What's New?

I’ll admit it, my commitment to this blog has been woeful over the past six months or so. I have been busy sourcing university deadlines and part-time jobs as an excuse to myself to neglect writing on the sports I love. But here lies the issue, they ARE the sports I love, and I love writing about them. So it all needs to change. And it has.

Why Maldonado shouldn’t seek Pastors new away from F1

To many followers of F1, the news of Pastor Maldonado’s late payments to Renault in order to retain his 2016 race seat will be of no great shame. He is perceived by most as no more than a pay driver whose place on the grid is based on finance, not merit. So if he leaves the sport, it is at no great loss. But if he were to depart, I think Maldonado’s absence would be to the detriment of the paddock and to the viewers. Really I do.

From 1 to 1000 Horsepower

Yesterday the paddock rumours were confirmed, and the BBC opted to axe their broadcasting of Formula 1 from the 2016 season onwards. As a result, we can expect to see the 21 race terrestrial coverage on Channel 4 for at least the next 3 years. So, now that the quotes from Bernie, the Beeb and Channel 4 have been bandied about over the last 24 hours, I want to take a closer look at what this means for the presenters now that the BBC has relinquished its broadcasting rights.

Would Hamilton want to become a 3 time World Champion?

Lewis Hamilton’s 42nd win in Sochi places him joint 3rd, alongside Sebastian Vettel, in the Formula 1 rankings of drivers with the most race wins. This is continuing evidence of how Hamilton’s form has rarely wavered over the last two years. As a result he looks set to carry straight on from his 2014 Formula 1 Championship to win another, and take his tally to 3. This would put him on level terms with his great hero Ayrton Senna. But consider this, would matching such an achievement go any way to dampening his admiration for Senna?

Normal Service Resumed

As the Monza Grand Prix is now upon us, I will be once again resuming regular posting after a summer absence. Having uploaded my old report on the controversies surrounding the death of Ayrton Senna, the website has sat dormant but for good reason.

I feel as though Coco the dog's summer has been better than mine.
